YONKERS — Fifty volunteers, mostly Yonkers police officers, will shave their heads Saturday in a fundraiser to benefit children with cancer.

The Yonkers Police Benevolent Association is holding the event at 1 p.m. at JC Fogarty's restaurant in Bronxville.

The proceeds will go to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives, union officials said.

Shaving their heads will put the volunteers in solidarity with kids fighting cancer while raising money from friends and family.
